A few weeks ago I sent in my original joycons for repair because they were drifting. As a temporary replacement, I bought these due to their relatively high rating compared to other third-party joycons. Now I'm writing this review with confidence that the rating is well deserved and that I can honestly use it forever (that is, until I have to go to a Smash tournament - don't bring custom macro controllers, kids). Previous reviews have pointed out that one of the main features of these controllers is that they are easier to hold due to the fact that they are more demanding on your hands. I can definitely play with them longer than regular joycons. I also appreciate some small nuances like the concave joysticks. Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience or precise planning for using the turbo and macro features to form a realistic opinion about them. On paper, they can save you in input-heavy situations, but note that this is a form of cheating in games like Smash. designed for console and standard joycons, for example. Also, unlike regular joycons, you can't wirelessly boot the Switch simply by holding down the home button. Instead, you have to use the power button on the console itself, which can take some getting used to. I also wish they would match the standard Switch straps (the ones you see in the picture are 3rd party ones that I bought specifically for this replacement) and come with NFC (which is a big deal if you use amiibos regularly but don't plan to fix the issue). the official; joycons yet). However, to be honest, the positives far outweigh the negatives I've pointed out, so I think they're great alternatives for regular use.
