I have one of the clear hard plastic backpacks that expand and my cat will travel in it with me, but the way it expands is difficult and enabling my cat's escape. This bag is perfect! The size is great for him (he weighs about 12 pounds) and he loves to get inside. The shoulder straps and back are comfortable for me to carry, and the chest and waist straps provide extra support. I let him play because he loves it so much! But I also love the detachable lining at the bottom, the detachable collar clip and the fact that it folds! The only part of the bag that I find useless is the mini case with the headphone jack. It's too small for a phone, so multiple AirPods fit inside, but the port doesn't make sense. Although this is not so important. Excellent recommended backpack!
