Some detailed comments on this flashlight after 1 month of ownership

I bought this flashlight to replace Factory Fluval 3.0 in Factory 40. There are some things I like and some things I don't like about this flashlight, so I'll try to list them directly: The first form factor. This lantern is designed for a rimless aquarium. Unlike many popular jigs, the sides (width) are not adjustable - it either fits or it doesn't. In the case of the Breeder 40 it would fit the rim of the Breeder 40 with a rim BUT the rim made the tank too wide for light so I mounted it over the rim. It's stable, but that slight increase in width makes it too wide to fit properly. Color - I have mixed comments on the coloring - although it looks brilliant in aquarium lighting, I would like them to have more information on the K->Spectrum translation (how much blue, how much green, how much red) that you are getting in each case K Adjustment This is one area where Fluval shines because you're actually adjusting the intensity of the spectrum, not the K value, allowing you to control how much of each color is. Here you do not know how much green and blue goes into the tank. Application - The application is quite easy to use and the range is quite good BUT changing the light adjustment time window is a bit annoying because you have to remove all the previous settings to increase the length of the previous window. Computers are smart these days and it would be a fairly trivial code change to set an earlier window and then propagate the effect to later windows as needed (e.g. if the first window is 7 to 8 and the second window is 8 to 12; if you Change the first from 7 to 9 then the second can go from 9 to 12; if you change the first to 7 to 13 the second can go to 13 to 13.15 and if the third was from 12 to 13 it can go to 13:30 go 13:45 (then you can adjust the time in later windows without having to recreate it) If you know a little about the code, it will only be a few lines of code, and it will be more convenient than the current method, everything to remove later time window...it's a nuisance, it works well - Brightness - I have no way of formally measuring how bright this light is, but it had an immediate beneficial effect on some hard-to-grow plants, so it outperforms Fluval clearly in this regard (or perhaps has a better spectrum). o evaluate. It's expensive, but it doesn't feel like it's more expensive than comparable products of this brightness, so that's something to consider (analogues include Black Box SBF, ADA, Kessil 360we, .. then you'll need the warranty in Consider that's pretty weak - if the product is well made why not back it up with a decent guarantee Fluval has 3 years, Kessel has two years, even sbf Black Box has two years - so here we see that the guarantee doesn't is reassuring if he doesn't know the answer he goes to an engineer who has the answer and they provide detailed and high quality answers - future - there is a good chance i will use this light on future tanks that are bigger factor is a real issue so I'll have to go with the hanging version - although as it's a bit in the future I'll get more experience with the current light before I'm final Make future decisions - If I have any future experiences, good or bad, I'll update. - BTW the tank in question is low tech - I was considering it for a high tech tank but this tank is 4ft long and there is no way to hang a light in this space so this light is not reasonable option for this tank. However, he showed that even a low-tech tank can benefit from high-quality light.
