This Zeng Ear ZE 228s 2 Speed 3 Wire is a switch that replaces the fan chain switch for the Hunter 22272. Don't call. A hunter for advice and action. They are useless if they seek advice and support from their former models. They don't stand by their product. I have a forty year old Hunter model 22272 cast iron motor in an oil bath. The fan circuit has recently been interrupted. I called Hunter twice. Both agents claimed they had no record of the model number 22272 and could not tell me which part fits or where to purchase it. They said they don't sell parts. But they were keen to sell me a new fan for like $500 and basically told me to ditch the model 22272 fan with a great motor and pecan blades. I found a replacement for the chain switch. This is Zeng Ear ZE 228s, 2 speed, 3 wires. This is the same switch as the Gardner Bender GSW-33. You need to know what you are doing to connect it correctly (black wire to port L, blue wire to port 2, red wire to port 1). I suggest either consulting an electrician or contacting www.ceilingfanswitch.com. With a total cost of about $25, my 40-year-old fan works perfectly thanks to Hunter. Hunter is a company without integrity or character. Do you really think Hunter doesn't know about Zeng Ear ZE 228s for Hunter 22272?
