This engine works great. It's plug and play so it was installed and up and running in seconds. The drive is very noisy when running at full speed. And although it reads very quickly, it writes a little slowly. I've bought several brands of DVD+/-R discs, some claiming to have 8x and 16x write speeds, but the drive doesn't seem to be using those speeds. Still, it's definitely faster than the internal DVD burner on my Toshiba laptop. It's just not super fast. But top quality. No problems with it after burning literally hundreds of discs. I would buy it again, but then pack it in a soundproof box.
