This is the 4th filter I have bought from PUR in the last 5 years and the 4th to suddenly start leaking, sticking and starting to splash water everywhere due to poor quality. I bought the "Chrome" model. , mistakenly believing that it will be more durable because it is metal. I know you have to laugh because of course it's not metal, it's plastic with a chrome paint finish. Sigh. After six months of normal use, the seal around the cap that holds the filter has not failed. So when I try to filter the water, it squirts in different directions all over the kitchen. Not only did I lose $30 on a filter housing, but I'm also wondering what to do with the $50 filter cartridges I bought from Costco. TO UPDATE. After speaking to customer service for twenty minutes I was told that I would have to pay for their defective product to be returned. Only after they "make sure" that it really is leaking do they send me a new unit. They said to expect it to take up to a month! As you read the rave reviews for this product, keep in mind that many if not most of them were probably paid for by the company that makes these abysmal filters. If you don't want to throw your money away, consider buying a filter from another company. UPDATE: I have replied to the "Support Specialist" who left a comment on this review. As far as I can tell, the only reason they have a "social media support" department is to show that this company genuinely cares about their customers. that they received a defective unit which I had to pay to ship back. Just think I already knew that by tracking the package! Seriously, what is this? Apparently it will be another two weeks before they send me a new unit. So now I've run out of the money I paid to have their device returned plus all the money I have to spend on bottled water until they finally send me a new one. What a complete scam.
