Review on Universal Fuel Tank Lock Ring Tool For Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GM, Nissan, And Jeep Wrangler - Easy Fuel Pump Senders Removal And Install Tool by Greg Muin

You need this: my feedback

I used this to tighten the fuel pump locking collar on my 2004 Ford Ranger. The collar came off easily with a hammer and screwdriver, but no way was it going back on the same way. I was concerned that I would damage the fuel tank by pounding on it or even drive the screwdriver through the top of the tank or worse yet slip with the screwdriver and break a nipple off the new fuel pump. I found this and it worked great. I cleaned the mating surface of the collar and fuel tank of rust and applied some grease on the locking tabs. Then I used a 1/2" breaker bar with a 3 ft pipe on the handle and slowly turned it to lock it in. Worth every penny. Just a thought, please everyone leaving a review, leave the year and model of the vehicle you used this for. It helps the next people as the tool description isn't comprehensive.

Pros
  • You can count on this tool to perform efficiently for years on end, ensuring that your fuel system operates at peak performance
Cons
  • Not recommended for use on vehicles with severe rust or corrosion on the fuel tank
