Works well no compressor fails

I have replaced the compressor type dehumidifier and the Airplus Peltier type is much quieter. It seems to remove more water from the air in my garage than the old compressor, even when new, although a two-year comparison is hardly an accurate test. My problem with the compressors is that they seem to run for about a month after the warranty is out and then lose enough refrigerant to freeze to the bottom of the coils and not thaw and shut down as intended so you end up with a big one Lump of ice on the bottom through which air does not flow, and the efficiency is practically zero. This has happened to me with 3 different dehumidifiers from 2 different manufacturers so I'm done with this technology. I hope Peltier devices avoid these problems, and while Peltiers aren't as efficient as compressors in theory, I like the fact that they have no coolant and no moving parts other than a fan. And if (when) the compressor type starts losing refrigerant, you lose the efficiency advantage too. Let's see. I have signed up for a two year warranty and will be leaving myself a message to get in touch at this point. But while it's running it's quiet and I'd better figure out how to connect the hose because it's collecting a lot of water and I don't want to keep emptying the bucket. Oh, the right side dropped 10% in two hours in my 1000 square foot garage when I first plugged it in, so I'm happy.
