Bought two of these over a year ago. Assembly is really easy as there are plastic joints where you slide the metal parts (press fit) and there are plenty of height adjustments and short extensions. As you can see from the photos the tape doesn't help hold it together. Surprisingly, in this form, he survived thanks to the help of his neighbor from a plastic box. The price has come down a bit since I bought it, but if you have an Ikea nearby I know they sell much sturdier (all metal) shelves for about $5 more. I know that's what I'm going to replace it with when this thing finally breaks down.
