I rarely complain about a product, but I need it here. I read numerous reviews ranging from great to bad and noticed that many of the bad reviews were older. Several reviews said they had digestive issues and the Royal Canin Golden Retriever was a great fit for their dog so despite the negative reviews I ordered the smallest bag possible at £17 for almost $50. I spoke to my vet and we decided to slowly feed my Golden by adding 12 mouthfuls of food to his homemade morning meal over the course of a week and then seeing how he does with the food. Two days later, when he had 24 pieces of food in his system, he showed signs of gastrointestinal distress, which is why I started cooking his food a few months ago. I stopped feeding him and within 24 hours he was more on his own. I really hoped this would be the answer I was looking for. I'm sure the food isn't bad in general, but I want people who are struggling to find food their Golden can stomach to know my experience.
