When the package was opened, there were several prohibitions: do not wash until completely thawed (the label that changes color indicates when), do not store upside down. But no salt, no ice, and it froze in 20-25 minutes. He made it around 9-10pm, and the ice cream was packed into a container and placed in the freezer of our fridge overnight. We tested it in the morning and it was easy to scoop (and delicious). We served it ourselves that night and it was firmer but like a commercial firm, not rock hard like our other homemade ice cream after it went from the machine into the freezer. My husband had to flip the beater adapter but then found instructions on how to do that if it doesn't fit. We are very happy with it after the first use.
