I bought this oil pot because it seemed to work properly. Disassembled, cleaned, neatly reassembled. I started using it that night and noticed an oily puddle where I put it. Thought it was a coincidence, but no. It leaked out all the time. I checked if it was tight. It was. I know I carefully reassembled it after cleaning it, so I messaged the seller. They told me to disassemble and reassemble it. It made no sense. This isn't rocket science, I know 100% that I put it together the way it should have been. Anyway, it kept dripping and I was sick of it so I took it apart and cleaned it because it was greasy on the outside. and evil. When I tried to disassemble it, the metal sleeve that wraps around the glass came loose. It's held together with glue here and there. I think the spilled oil loosened the glue. I carefully reassembled it, aligning the notch with the seal, etc. My wife wanted to fill it with oil and as she tried to put it on our kitchen rack I heard the glass shatter on the floor. She held the decanter to the bottle, but the sleeve immediately slipped off the glass (because there was no glue to stick the sleeve to the glass). Floor. I do not recommend this product. I went ahead and looked for the oil pot that I've been using for years. The only reason I didn't do this was because the company (Prepara) announced a few years ago that they no longer make this model. Anyway, apparently they still do. I bought it immediately and consider this experience a big mistake.
