Review on Red Kaito KA500IP Voyager Solar/Dynamo AM/FM/SW NOAA Weather Radio with Alert and Cell Phone Charger by Justin Guldin

This review is actually about two radios I bought one for my dad and mom and the second for me and my wife: First: my dad's test: highlights :( 1) Great value for money (2) Good quality (3) Good reception (4) Great shortwave sound (5) Universal charger (6) Portable and durable "Worth every penny! I waited to fully test the device and when I did I checked every aspect of usage and charging. I exceeded ALL my expectations and did even better with the external antenna I ordered for my son. The only feature I haven't been able to test is the ability to charge via a wall adapter (I'm hoping to get a free one with a review). I'm good at listening to shortwave and in my opinion this Kaito radio outperforms my C. Crane : For the price it couldn't be better and you can't get a shortwave with such a good build that has all the features of this one and at the same low price. "************************************************ **** ** ****** ********************* My review: When my father asked me if I could order for him and my mother (y they don't have credit/debit cards and prefer to use checks or USPS money orders) I more than happily agreed after he told me it was for shortwave radio.As a kid I watched him repaired and upgraded broken electronics of all kinds: radios, generators, surround sound systems, walkie-talkies, CB radios, etc.) We were about to move to a rural part of the state (West Virginia, where there was no internet, no TV and almost no cell service).little man and the separate antenna we bought with him helped us talk and keep up with the weather and news.I'm not an electronics guru, that's mine Dad but I was looking for shortwave which has all 7 radio bands NOAA, AM, F M and 2 shortwave bands; Handle for charging, solar, wall adapter (hope we have one too) and USB; And the ability to charge a cell phone or other USB devices with it is hard to find at this price! On top of that, it's well built, although I wouldn't advise hitting it with a hammer or punches (it's still an electrical device). In general, my wife and I are very satisfied, as are my parents. This is a great product!
