I have never owned an air purifier. I didn't think it was necessary. But recently I became a roommate with an American Eskimo (super fluffy dog) and I kept waking up with lumps under my eyes and horrible phlegm. Even after washing, taking the dog to the hairdresser, combing it, etc. There was dog hair everywhere, no matter what. I wiped everything down a couple of times and the next day there was always dog hair on the furniture. Adding to the problem is that we also sleep with the window open, so all the city dust and air was always there. This car was an absolute lifesaver. Now I can wipe the dust off and after 24 hours it doesn't look gross anymore. You can literally see the difference in air quality as not many particles are suspended in the air. My eye crusts have stopped, as has the mucus. Cooking was a real challenge for me. I accidentally lit a piece of lard and there was smoke and the smell of burnt lard all over the apartment! I put this machine in the kitchen and gradually moved it to the pantry, and the various corners and the smell and smoke were completely gone in about an hour. Another big plus is that it blows a fairly powerful stream of filtered air, so it protects my small apartment from stuffy, stale air.
