I needed a fanless power supply for an extensive network of LED strips. I needed about 400 watts of peak power, but I wanted headroom. This PSU seemed to meet all of my needs, and I was willing to pay a little more for a PSU that I wouldn't need to replace in a few years (because it stays on all the time).
