Review on Garmin 4 3 Inch Portable Discontinued Manufacturer by Dawn Bunger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

We did a lot of research to find the best we could afford.

. I even asked a friend who drives a truck what brand of GPS she uses. She gave me her model number, which she likes a lot, and when I looked at it, it turned out that the Garmin nuvi 42LM 4.3 " was an updated version. I read the reviews, which of course were a bit mixed were weighed the pros and cons and decided on this best choice for what we couldn't find! I think we paid $90 (the price just got reduced at Revain and it's been reduced since I bought ours, but we had to deliver ours before setting off on our trip.) When it first arrived in the original box, you'll see a GPS, a cigarette lighter charger, a USB cable, and a suction cup to attach it to the inside of the windshield. I brought mine to find out how to physically install it on your windshield. If you connect a USB cable to your computer, you must first go to the Garmin website for more information functions.DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATES FIRST!When you're ready to download getting map updates, then the rest of what's available to you, such as B. different voices. All of this is very easy to do. After using British James' voice for a few days we turned off the voice option and just kept an eye on the GPS for the next turn etc. As a main driver I'm used to looking at the GPS to get this information. . It's like taking your eyes off the road and looking in the rearview mirror every seven seconds. The? Not you? Or you can ask the person in the passenger seat for directions from the GPS. Whatever floats on your boat. Took her to Denver last week and she's never let us down. When we decided to turn onto a different street or highway, "James," as I called him, would simply recalculate a new route to the final destination in the middle of the road. I'm not sure, but the very cold weather in Colorado (with the exception of Wednesday, December 18th, when a new high temperature record of 68 degrees Fahrenheit was set for Denver!) may have slowed the GPS or not set up routes or recalculate. I mean 15 degrees Fahrenheit, sometimes with snow. Don't believe me, was it just difficult for him to get to the satellites, or was there too much noise in the air? What is, my hair went crazy from time to time! haha! My son lives 13 floors up in a suitable building in Denver's Capital District; From there you have a wide view, but often no cell phone reception, so despite the wide open space of the Denver Metro there are definitely communication problems in Denver. I'll let the experts decide what the real problems are! Worked very well in the mountains, I guess that's to be expected closer to the satellites, right? Another thing we noticed is that it doesn't hold the charge very well, my husband said it was probably cold air so we kept it plugged into the charger the entire time we were using it. Let's see if that changes as it warms up here in Portland, Oregon. I've read that the maximum battery life is around two hours, but often less. So always take your car charger with you! Also, we had a small issue with the charging port that goes into the back of the GPS; it fits the connector quite loosely which may have played a role in battery drain but it has always worked while driving and was plugged in and never turned off. You can change the settings to include the altitude, the set speed limit (which was wrong at times, for example the speed limit is actually 65 mph but the GPS says 55 (or vice versa so always look out for the posted speed signs) and the expected arrival time and how many miles to your destination (rather than how many miles to the next turn). These items are displayed on the right side of the screen. The map is still displayed on the left side in this mode. You can also Using the highway map view, or if you tap "Street Name" or "Destination" at the top of the screen, it instead switches to turn-by-turn directions with kilometers to the next turn. If you don't know the area well, you can use "Points of Interest"." to find shops, restaurants by type of food, parks, museums and other named buildings, etc. We had a small problem, namely that I had to walk to nearby shoe shop, found via GPS, but when we got to our destination it was gone. The maps and attractions service provider does not appear to be tracking changes when a particular business is closed or has moved. Just always allow yourself enough time to get to your final destination knowing that you will stop somewhere if this happens to you. VERY EASY LEARNING CURVE! And I liked that the trip could use GPS since we drove all over Colorado and didn't just stop in Denver. I highly recommend this model, a 4.3 inch screen is a reasonable screen size but go for a 5 inch screen if you feel you need or need that size. Happy roads to you!
