How did I live without her?

I have no sense of direction so this product was recommended to me by a close friend. She is sure of it. The device is very easy to install and easy to use. I'm not computer savvy, but the on-screen keyboard shortcuts work so logically that I didn't need any practice or instruction to use the system. The screen is quite small, but that's a good thing because it takes up so little space on the windshield. No obstruction. The on-screen map is great, but I don't even look at it for the most part…

I have ONLY bought Garmin GPS units since they came out in the early 2000's. Everyone was really amazing. Well, in May 2014 my last one died, I think from the heat here in Florida. So of course I bought another Garmin! Well, that's pure crap. Never again, it goes on and on and on if I choose a different path than they say. Sometimes it takes me to the wrong places. But I didn't understand a bit about the coverage when I bought it, I have lifetime updates for the bottom 48, but even though Alaska (where I live) was on the screen, I had to buy an additional map of Alaska and it doesn't come with any updates. Without an additional map none of the Garmin functions worked. I live in Anchorage and wanted to use it a few days before my trip to understand the controls and features. That's…

We did a lot of research to find the best we could afford.

. I even asked a friend who drives a truck what brand of GPS she uses. She gave me her model number, which she likes a lot, and when I looked at it, it turned out that the Garmin nuvi 42LM 4.3 " was an updated version. I read the reviews, which of course were a bit mixed were weighed the pros and cons and decided on this best choice for what we couldn't find! I think we paid $90 (the price just got reduced at Revain and it's been reduced since I bought ours, but we had to deliver ours before…
