For the price this is a good product.

Okay, let's be realistic. For what you pay this is a good product. It won't be as smooth as a $200 professional vise, and they can be a little rough around the edges, so you have to understand that there are tradeoffs. If you are looking for a basic vise around the house: occasionally holding wood, clamping metal, working with a gun, etc., then this is the vise for you. If you're a pro who uses this every day, you might want to invest a little more into it. A few things I noticed about these vises compared to those I have worked with in the past are: These vises are sometimes difficult to manipulate and should be lubricated immediately out of the box. I had an expensive vise to turn the handle on that would do many turns on its own. This is the wrong vise, they are rough and rub (yes I know, not the right word). So if you drop the handle it will probably make a half turn and stick together. This vise has a REALLY small tube. Clamp for the main jaws. A good feature for a budget vise. This vise REALLY has a yellow gold base. It's not gray like in the picture. To be honest I wouldn't care what color it is so no big deal. In general, it suits me. I've given it some abuse and it's in good condition.

Pros
  • CAST IRON DESIGN: With a 270 degree rotating base and powder coated finish, our product is ideal for heavy woodwork. Attach it to your garage workbench and work with ease. Jaw capacity: 4.5
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
