I bought this leash in March 2016. My dog weighs about 130 pounds. but she is an invalid, she has almost no strength in her hips or hind legs. When I bought it I thought it would never wear out or break. I usually buy a smaller (lighter) cord to tie them on the outside but the problem with them is that they wrap around her legs and I can't let that happen to her. Yesterday, to my surprise, she got off the leash and is sitting in a different part of her garden. I don't think she broke the cord for anything. At this time, she can hardly walk for long. Then I noticed that the wire broke just below where the clip attaches to the cable. I only keep her on a leash outside because my neighbor is scared of my malamute and is threatening to shoot her. I now have a leash that is 5 months old and in good condition except it has a broken cord on one end. Just be aware of this deficiency and pay attention lest it happen to you.
