In another apartment, a classic filter is installed (in the Khrushchev water supply, the hardness is about 250 ppm, after the filter - the same 30 ppm). I don’t feel any extraneous tastes, which I can’t say about unfiltered tap water. There is no cooling, we don’t need it: we drink right away, in the expansion tank the cold water has time to heat up to what is comfortable for us. It would be colder - and "hello" a cold throat. So very happy with the purchase.
