Review on General Tools 81264 Rustproof Grommets by Mario Schultz

Cuts and sews through the thickest material

I have found that this kit makes my many tarp/tarp covers out of the box and uses them much more reliably, allows me to buy inexpensive tarp materials and reinforce/compress these materials easily and quickly. I had to make grommet holes in the spare seat material for my zero gravity lounger. I had to cut through 2 layers of polyethylene with filler inside. 4 hard hits with a hammer on the edge of a block of wood (thanks for that) and I'm through with the materials. Place the neck sleeve base on the simple one as well, slip the neck through the hole I just made, put the washer on top, place the rivet pliers on it and 4 hard taps and everything was upside down, secured and looking great . . More importantly, I was able to save money on a new $100 chair simply by using the new grommet holes to attach the top of the chair's fabric to the frame. $10 saved me $100! I also plan to use it to make my own solar pool cover from Harbor Freight's inexpensive tarp. If you look for pool solar covers at Amazing, they can cost you $100. I just attach the grommets to the edges of the tarp and cover the instant pool for $50 instead of $200. I also plan to use it for my Coleman 10x10 UV protected canopy to make extra holes for grounding on windy days.

Pros
  • CLOTH RINGS: The anvil and setting tool are marked with lines for each shim size so you can quickly select which grommets you need for your project. For added comfort and safety, the device has a knurled body.
