When I was at school in Vancouver, British Columbia, I saw some neon signs. In fact, the waiter at the small restaurant warned me not to touch the one in the display case at our table. It was both antique and the neon light transformer was over 1000 volts. For advertising and brightly colored signs, neon was used for many different signs in the 1930s. As with more modern fluorescent lamps, a higher voltage is required to make the gas glow. However, neon requires a much higher voltage. However, today's technology is advancing and you don't have to create a high voltage gas tube lit by a high voltage transformer like you did with real neon in the past. LEDs or Light Emitting Diodes can now produce colors and be integrated into shapes like this sign in the form of gamer controls. Plus, it's a lot cheaper to create something this cool. Recommended for the gamer in the family.
