This product is a great way to keep your device level on a covered part of your dashboard. I have a Jeep Cherokee and this clamp was solid. I've had no issues with the clip detaching from the dashboard, nor have I had any issues with the phone (iPhone 6 Plus) detaching from the mount. The clip has a handy rubber tab to keep your phone in place. I originally bought this product because I wanted it to feel like a HUD and really deliver. However, after using the product for a few weeks, I fell in love with it for three main reasons. First the charging cable. For charging, I need to make sure the cable is long enough to get to its location. Most of the time this resulted in me having to "wirelessly" charge and install the phone until I had to charge it again. My car has Bluetooth and USB for the iPhone, which not only reads data for display in my infotainment center but also acts as a charger. So that became a minus as I don't like the cables being pulled through the car. The second gripe was that it was a little distracting because it did what I wanted too well. In other words, because it's right in your line of sight, I've tried looking over or around it when parking, making tight turns, etc. Perfect for long highway journeys, but city driving can be tricky. The final reason I felt it wasn't the perfect holder for me was that its ease of use to remove or install wasn't one-handed operation and the orientation was fixed to landscape. For the above reasons, due to cable issues, one-handed operation would be the safest way to remove/install the phone. I didn't feel like I could safely put the phone on the charger at high speed when it was charging and I had to reinstall the phone. You have to open the clip with one hand and insert the phone with the other. Also, sometimes all those notifications that pop up require a quick glance, but then again I'd have to clear them because I couldn't master reading while turning my head at highway speeds. Overall I would still recommend this product if you understand what you are getting. I would give it three stars but the point is that most of the negatives are personality based and the overall build quality is excellent. If you know what you're getting and are ok with the terrain and cable issues, this is a great phone mount that will ensure your eyes are only taken off the road for brief moments.
