I like the quality of this toy - a solid solid wooden box and a very smooth wooden ball. What stopped us both (my baby and I) from enjoying this toy is that the wooden ball makes a VERY unpleasant "pop" noise when it falls. I noticed that when I showed the baby how to play, she closed her eyes in anticipation of that sound. I think that prevented her from enjoying the toy at all. It sat on her playmat for about 1 week and she never touched it. She is very smart, 9 months old, and gets used to new toys within a day or two, especially when her parents play with her (and we did that a lot). I want the ball to be silicone or felt to avoid a very loud noise when dropped. Or maybe the box could have been covered with some sort of fairing to keep out noise. Great toy I think but too annoying for our home.
