The laptop must have a USB-C port. It doesn't adapt to USB-3 or Thunderbolt 2

I have an old Mac with only USB-3 and Thunderbolt 2, this device doesn't adapt either. Just got off the phone with Black Magic support and they said it's not backwards compatible. Too bad the old ones are no longer made.
