Wow. I bought my son an Asus gaming laptop for Christmas last year. It uses a Wi-Fi connection and that was fine until recently. It simply stopped connecting to 2.4GHz and 5GHz hotspots or connected and disconnected. Our ISP has 100Mbps bandwidth and often reached 70-80Mbps when connected, but it was difficult to access different parts of our home. When his Wi-Fi connection dropped, I thought maybe his internal Wi-Fi adapter was failing. I was right. After researching various USB adapters, I settled on the TechKey adapter. What we didn't like was that the USB stick came with a driver on a tiny CD. His laptop doesn't have a CD-ROM drive, and without internet it's a bit more difficult to find, download, and install a driver. I figured we should just plug it in and see if Windows 10 knows which driver to load. We plugged it in and in about 15 seconds we had internet! MY GOD! We didn't have to do anything. The best thing is the throughput. We went to the SpeedTest website and ran various tests around the house. He used to lose wifi often when he went upstairs. The router is located at the bottom, under the ceiling to provide coverage, and at the top. All our devices in the house are working fine except for his laptop - until now. Now its bandwidth is incredibly high anywhere in the home, even in the most remote locations. It reaches speeds of 85 Mbps to 140+ Mbps downstream and 6 Mbps to 9 Mbps upstream, which is incredibly fast! This little USB WiFi adapter is fantastic for the price. Fast and fast, and best of all, it's truly plug and play with Windows 10. Just plug and play! Don't fiddle with downloads or settings. If you're thinking about it, we highly recommend it. Thumbs up and full five stars!
