I bought a Green Toys Submarine, Airplane, Dump Truck and Mickey Mouse Truck. They all have a sweet chemical smell. I let them air out for five days, then dried, washed twice in the dishwasher, hand washed and they've been aired out for the past month and they STILL stink. I emailed the company after all the washes I've done and they responded that recycled groceries go on the line alongside other items like detergent bottles and although they never touch these bottles, sometimes a smell of wafts through Soak detergent into the plastic and it will eventually air out. They then offered to replace the toy if I wanted to. I'm angry because I'm pretty sure that if food-grade plastic is recycled in a facility that also recycles chemical bottles, the plastic is no longer considered food-grade because the plastic can absorb odors and chemicals that come from in the be released into nearby recyclable objects. So when she tells me that you're picking up the smell of a dishwasher or laundry detergent, what else are you picking up from those chemicals? So I responded by saying I wanted a replacement. She said she would notify me in a day or so when they leave and give me a tracking number. That was three weeks ago and since then I've emailed her twice and each time I've been ignored. Now I have no return date with Revane and I'm stuck with these toys I'm not giving to my son.
