If you have a Clear20 water filter you really need an extension hose. Without them, it's really difficult, and maybe almost impossible, to use the jug. Reasonable price, easy connection. The only (minor) problem is that the Clear20 jug is completely white, including the hose attached to the jug. Extension hose in dark blue. What's a bit odd is that the hose extension isn't white either. Don't think about buying a Clear20 jug instead of buying an extension hose, it makes filling the jug much easier.
