Review on 🦷 Relieve Tooth Sensitivity with Hello Oral Care Sensitivity Toothpaste by Michelle Ocampo

UPDATE: I've solved my flip top problem. I just unscrew it and use it like any other tube of toothpaste. The tube itself is thick plastic and the broad shoulder makes it very difficult to pull the last bit out of the tube. But I love this toothpaste and will continue to use it despite these packaging flaws. Hopefully this will improve over time. I am very happy with this toothpaste. I've always had sensitive gums, but I've never found a cure. Then, when I experimented with toothpowder, I experienced happy gums for the first time! However, the powders were too abrasive for my enamel and I had to look elsewhere. My dentist suggested that my positive gum reaction might indicate sensitivity to something in tube toothpastes, so I looked at the ingredients of my previous brand (Tom's) and found SLS, or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which is known to cause skin irritation in sensitive people. . Well I have VERY sensitive skin and am always finding new things to react to so I decided to buy Hello toothpaste to see if my gums would improve without SLS. I especially liked that it contains fluoride, which helps strengthen my enamel and prevent cavities. I've been using it for over a month now and am able to floss regularly with no pain or bleeding. What an improvement! I like the strong mint flavor, it's very pleasant but not overpowering. This toothpaste doesn't foam like other toothpastes, but that's because it doesn't contain SLS. SLS is an agent that's added to soaps, toothpastes, etc. (just about everything) to create foam, so it's actually a good thing that toothpaste doesn't foam. After trying and enjoying the tooth powder, it didn't make much of a difference to me. I would definitely recommend this toothpaste if you are looking for a good SLS free brand that still has fluoride in it. Now it's time to find the perfect SLS-free shampoo!
