We got this for our 3.5 year old daughter for Christmas and she literally spent 6 hours placing balloons in it. The parts are quite close together and the balls pass the track easily. Instructions for multiple settings are included, or you can use your imagination to create your own. The set includes a couple of "extra fun" pieces with spinners or a bell, plus a starting point where you can load the balls and then press a button to skip them. At first I thought 20 marbles is too many - I mean how many are you going to lose? But the fun doesn't seem to lie in throwing one ball after another. The fun part is sending ALL the balloons at once. Our living room rang like a marble rainstick for most of the Christmas season as they all rolled down their path. Again and again and again. They gather in the last part, and fewer balls rolled across our floor than I expected. All balls are standard size and you can easily find a replacement if you lose most of them. . The quality is good and there are enough pieces to keep a novice marble enthusiast busy. I believe it will combine with other "marble" sets as well if we decide to expand in the future.
