I don't like the best in thermometers

I can't get accurate readings. I also do not like the presence of a removable element for reading the temperature by ear. I bought two of these and the one I gave my son doesn't give an accurate reading either. I would return them except we were both so glad we had them that we had no intention of returning them and threw away the boxes they came in.
