Our original two-handle shower controls were literally a pain. One handle was rotated clockwise and the other counterclockwise. Very confusing, resulting in unexpected scalding or freezing. By switching to single-lever operation, we get a shower with the right temperature. Ease of installation depends on access to indoor plumbing. Mine was tight behind a small access panel. I was only able to crawl through the lid with one hand in a crowded area with sharp screws, but I managed, I had no leaks even with no duct tape I just couldn't install. The controller comes with the shower hose interface facing up, which seems silly, and my original controller was facing down. I was able to unscrew the back of the controller and change the configuration. No problem.
