Review on πŸ’½ Corsair Black CSSD-BRKT2 Dual SSD Mounting Bracket - 3.5 Inch by Joseph Katipally

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Additional engineering required for the bottom set of SSD mounting slots in this basket

Installing bottom SSD micro screw sets is nearly impossible due to the side slot design. These micro-screws are non-magnetic and there are no holes on the front ends of the front slots and no holes on the rear bottom slots that would allow an installer to drive the micro-screws into the new threads on the SSD pair and then insert the drive . through the open slots and tighten the fasteners. I had to use 1/2" newspaper strips with a tiny hole to hold the micro screw in place while carefully lowering it near the mounting hole to grab a few threads, then ripped out the paper strip and did the same the repeated remaining three mounts. on the lower SSD brackets. This device seems to have non-magnetic micro-screws that are more likely to get lost during installation as it is currently designed. With slots cut out for a hole in the front of the slot on the front of the carriage and on the back of the carriage on the rear pair of slots, the installer can thread the micro screws into the SSD and then insert into the mounting slots. and safely without all of the above hassles and drama of using tweezers and stopping at newspaper strips.
