I don't think my dryer duct has been cleaned since the house was built in 1977 so it was long overdue. The device is easy to use, the only issue I had was that the large brush couldn't get around the tight coils in my vent (which probably isn't even by modern standards). I tried a smaller brush instead and it loosened everything up just fine, although it distorted the brush. On the advice of another reviewer, I landed on the blower! Just put a plastic bag on the inside end of the vent, stick the blower on the outside and hooray! It's all been blown to the bottom of the vent. Then I sucked it from the inside. I ended up filling my Dyson canister three times with tightly packed lint. Very uncomfortable but I bet my dryer will work much better now and less chance of a house fire. I haven't managed to unscrew the plastic rods from each other yet, but while I can't disassemble them again and have to throw them away, the $25 drain cleaning was a steal.
