Review on 🔧 Enhanced OBD2 Scanner: Universal Automotive Fault Diagnostic Code Reader with Battery Test Tool for OBDII Protocol Cars Since 1996 by Jason Cavett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive OBD2 scanner with added features

This OBD2 scanner has the same features as most other scanners but the display is slightly larger to easily show multiple variables over time. For example, you can plot engine speed or temperature over time. I think these features might be useful for some analysis in a workshop environment, but not very useful for a non-mechanic like me just interested in checking a few data points. In addition, it would be too dangerous for me to collect data while driving. Another feature I haven't seen on other basic OBD2 scanners I have is that it can show you the voltage of a 12V battery. This might be handy for some, but I have other ways of showing the current voltage of a 12v battery. Having drained the battery before by leaving the overhead light on, I'm a bit paranoid about how a 12v battery works and always have readings. In my plug-in hybrid vehicle, the voltage is 14.1V when the DC/DC converter is charging the 12V battery from the high voltage battery. On normal cars, the alternator is likely to charge between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. If you see a product warning that hybrid vehicles do not support this OBD2 scanner, rest assured that it will work on at least the 2020 Crosstrek Hybrid. I've included a selection of the menus and screens I encountered from around 38 photos I took.
