I've been using the WD My Passport drive for many years and have had no problems with it. Bought a second Western Digital - WD Elements. Naturally, I thought that the same good quality, because outwardly they are almost the same. But it was not there. I did not take the disk anywhere from home, it did not receive any mechanical damage. I just recorded movies on my computer and then watched them from a disk on a TV. A few months later it just stopped showing up. Through Paragon Partition Manager, it also shows that it is dead. Bought on Amazon. Out of all the external drives I've owned, the only ones I have many that have never failed are the shock-resistant Transcends. I won't buy Western Digital again.
