I bought these for my Honda CRF 250L to carry my rifle or bow during hunting season. I also use them to carry an ax or hatchet when clearing trails or testing. I found them perfect for multipurpose mounts, simple design yet functional. The area where your rifle sits is made of thick rubber with a bullet on top to protect your item. The "claw" can be stretched or shrunk to fit specific items. Rubber bands are good and can be wrapped in a variety of ways to secure items of different sizes. I didn't have room on the handlebars to mount them, but there was room in my handguards. The brackets use a groove for round or inverted for flat mounting. The "claw" or whatever you want to call it can be rotated to ensure both are parallel to the tapered bars. Install it in the desired location and then tighten the wing nut. All in all I am very happy I bought them, I now need a second set for my mountain bike for the car free areas!
