Here's a bit of history with me and vacuums - I can rip one apart pretty quickly. Or more specifically, my 95-year-old dad can tear apart a vacuum cleaner with his habit of tossing dental floss everywhere (his dental floss once cut a wire whisk in half—that's tough). So I don't spend much. . Sure, I've had a Dyson, a Kirby, and a few Oreks, but they don't last much longer than the special $100 Revain. This device looked unique mainly because of its style. Unlike other devices that have an incredibly heavy top paired with a light bottom, this one feels a bit more balanced. And he didn't let me down in that. If this thing weighs 5 pounds, it's only because I have a quarter pound of dirt in my cup and because it's balanced, lugging it around the house is no longer a chore. medium or high beater settings. Medium is probably the best, I get about 30 minutes of good vacuum time before it dies. What he does. The previous WiFi devices I had gotten weaker just before shutting down - it's kind of an early warning system. This device simply turns itself off (the charging indicators are not visible when in use unless you tilt the handle to the left and look). As far as applying dirt, I have no problem. In addition to flossing, Dad also drops peanuts, pretzels, and God knows what else on the floor (he doesn't gain much weight because he keeps missing his mouth). Odd note, the whisk didn't break the pretzel stick - it was sucked out whole). So is this device worth the price? Let me review the pros and cons of the approach. Pros: * Clean design. The flat-bottomed cup design allows you to balance this appliance on the edge of your countertop.* Good design. Doesn't creak or crack anywhere. The writing is clear and printed on the case, rather than the usual "put a sticker on and hope nobody notices". You don't see that often.* Surprisingly quiet. My old Red Devil could wake up the neighbors, but this one didn't even wake up both dads who were sleeping in the next room (on high or medium settings).* Easy to clean - embarrassingly easy. Place the bottom of the canister on the trash can and release the lever. That's all. Because the bowl is nothing more than a cylinder with no edges or obstacles, everything just falls out.* Need a deep clean? Twist the canister a quarter turn and it will pop out. No need to pound or slide that stupid thing back in. Simply remove the filter unit (it is marked with rotating arrows with "open" and "close") and wash it. Wait for it to dry and reassemble. Because the canister has no unnecessary protrusions or sharp corners, nothing stays inside.* Comes with an extra filter. This is rare. Cons: * Never heard of this company? Join the crowd. I've searched extensively and couldn't find Wall or Akuma online other than this Revain entry. I even emailed the company (aukmabywhall-us@outlook.com) asking for a website and got a reply with a web post that took me straight to the Revain website you are browsing . Hmmm……* Need parts? Read the first minus above. For the price, you probably can't lose, and with Revain's liberal returns policy, you can return it once you've tried it.
