I think they fit as expected. I usually wear between 34 and 36, so I'm used to tight or wide trousers, depending on the manufacturer. I have ham sized thighs so medium thighs are generally too tight to handle. I went with the big ones in them, they're a bit baggy on me. The shorts these days are shorter than many athletic alternatives, but still hit the knee. The shorts are transparent. There's a two-layer build, but both are pretty thin. If you're wearing bubblegum pink underwear, the world might take notice. The main problem I had with these shorts was that the drawstring ripped after only 2 uses. As the waist and length were a bit large for my Marge Big Medium height, the drawstring was absolutely essential to keep me in these shorts during workouts. I was about to put them on for the third time and the rope broke. These shorts are now only usable for leisure. It's quite disappointing that this has happened as it's so new. I only paid about $10 for it so it's not a big bummer. Be prepared, these aren't expensive shorts. If you intend to train in shorts for many months, they may not be for you. If you just want to stroll around at Wal-Mart or sit around on internet forums and play herd and troll, save up some money and get going.
