The bowls were packaged in brown paper, not the original Corning packaging. The bottom of one was badly scratched. white is gone. Don't be fooled into thinking this is actually a Corning Ware product. The size is excellent. Bought for my husband for work. I'm glad I tried them with custard first. The covers have no lip or lip to lift making them difficult to remove. If you have stored liquid, it can easily spill. You practically have to turn the container on its side to remove the lid. I still like it for more solid content. You just have to be careful what you keep in it.
