After fighting (and almost giving back) this for my DL380p Gen8 server on one of the PCIe 3.0 ports, I remembered that it has a PCIe 2.0 slot. So before I put it back in the box, I tried it - it works! No driver updates or kernel modifications required! I tested transferring 18GB video files and averaged about 120MB/s in 2.5 minutes. I will take it. I've already connected a few drives to this port, but I don't think I can hit the 500MB/s limit on a PCIe 2.0 port. Great performance for the price! :)
