We have a house with negative pressure, which causes air from the chimney to enter the house. When we use our fireplace in the fall and winter, the smell of creosote fills our home, and no amount of chimney sweeps or deodorant can fix it. Because of this, many homes in our area of the same design never use fireplaces. We found that placing a mini ozone generator in our fireplace and closing the glass doors stopped most of the odor. I bought this ozone generator because it has more power than most mini generators. Unfortunately, the proposed programs are not enough to cope with the constant smell from the pipe. If it had an "always on" feature, it would work wonders. Just a quick note, the website for registering a product for a 12 month warranty is not valid. I have found that these ozone generators only last about a year before performance drops or the fan becomes incredibly loud. You might consider purchasing an extended warranty through Revain as I have never been able to get customer service from these obscure manufacturers.
