Review on Efficient Cleaning Solution: Brushtech B68C 10-Feet Long Dryer Vent Duct Cleaning Brush by Bobby Chandler

Handle too flexible

I only needed about 6 feet of a straight 4 inch dryer to clean and this brush was barely enough for the task. It is exactly like in the photo. The head and brush are the right size, but the handle is too flexible and just wants to zigzag and fold when you try to push the brush through. I ended up attaching a dowel to it to give it enough rigidity for the job. I later read a reviewer who recommended threading and pulling the handle first. Anyway, with the dowel added, I got it working and then ran a store vacuum, sucking tons of lint through it. Functional for the price, but not outstanding. I shared my experience with a friend who works in house maintenance and he said he uses a drill brush with a set of rods that fit inside each other. I saw one of these at HomeDepot for $19.99 (a set of Everbilt drill-driven canal brushes) and would probably go down that route if I had a chance to buy again. Looking at the amount of lint collected by a vacuum cleaner, I cannot stress enough how important it is to actually clean your vent for a few years, especially if you have a gas heated dryer.
