If you use it for embedded system, don't buy it. If you insist, at least check the installation environment. Because it's a bit longer and bigger than the regular hard drive you're trying to replace it with. In the worst case (like my Bose Lifestyle System) it doesn't fit. The image above shows the PATA pins of a regular hard drive, while the image below shows the PATA pins of an SSD. The difference may be tiny, but you're going to run into trouble on an embedded system with a very tight tolerance. Unfortunately the biggest problem - I think there is some problem with the controller - the system performance is extremely slow. In fact, Bose took longer to boot compared to its original HDD, and it's read-only, not write-able (Bose can copy a CD to an HDD, which sort of isn't possible on this SSD). So it just crashes. Working on my case and although it runs on a normal computer I have to say that it is very, very slow. This is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because at least it works on computers. I'm returning this SSD because it just doesn't work for my Bose system. an outdated connection interface with either a very old computer or embedded systems, you can tell this SSD works half the time, and that's when you're willing to use that rather slow speed.
