It was easy to install, I made a template and used my router with template guide bushing and 1/2" straight bit It's important that the template stays flush with the top of the cabinet as the 2 x 4's used for the pony wall aren't entirely flat and level at the top, so I screwed the template to the top of the cabinet and wedged used to line it up top of the 2 x 4 wall. I then used my plunge router to cut out the indentation. I had a 12" batten on 3 sides of my island, I used 10 of these staples and a sheet of 3/4" MDF, then My quartz table top lay on top.It was solid, MDF doesn't flex as much as plywood and it's cheaper.I don't have a sink on the island so reg MDF is fine.about for d he insurance. These spacers are designed for a 12 inch overhang, for larger overhangs you will need something longer. I am very satisfied with this bandage, I would recommend it.
