An absolute must have for SX70 cameras if you want to shoot in no direct light conditions due to the low sensitivity of SX70 film (ISO 100). Just remember that at certain distances you will need to adjust the dodge/darkness wheel for proper exposure. You will get bad shots, just accept it. It's not the flash's fault, you just have to learn the camera. This little flash will drain your batteries faster than you think. I would recommend taking a spare set with you if you are traveling with your camera and flash. The 2.5mm jack is great for connecting external flashes! All you need is a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and a PC sync cable, and be prepared to spend big bucks experimenting with film :)
