I'm 5ft 7in and about 200lbs. I was a little confused by the size as some people said it was bigger and others said it was smaller. I chose the <big> because that's what I wear in t-shirts. I ordered it on 02/28/2017 and received it on 09/03/2017. As soon as I received it I put it on and it fit perfectly. looks nice. The fishhook patch comes off because it's held to the pocket with velcro instead of being sewn on, which is a big improvement over the last two styles of vests I've had. This is now my EDC / Travelers vest. Measure the bags as best I can and I will list them below. A NOTICE. First I measured horizontally/width and left to right on the grouped pockets. INSIDE LEFT TOP POCKET 4" X 5 1/2" This pocket is large enough to carry my ZTE Sonata 3 cell phone IF I choose to. INSIDE LEFT BOTTOM POCKET 1' X 7 1/2" Remarkably, this pocket and the one on the right do not close completely, allowing pens and styluses to be carried upright in these two pockets. The downside is that they can somehow slip out of yours Pocket and may get lost. LEFT OUTER CENTER POCKET 5 1/2" X 5". In this pocket I carry a small notepad with pen and stylus. . In this pocket I wear sunglasses and a bandana. "X 4 " BACK POCKET 1' 1 1/2" X 10 " Zipper is on the right side. I personally prefer all future versions of this vest to have a top opening. RIGHT INSIDE POCKET 1' X 7 1 /2" RIGHT OUTER POCKET 4" X 4" RIGHT MIDDLE POCKET 1.3" X 5 1/2" I carry a monocular and disposable lighter in this pocket. POUCH 2.2 1/2" X 5 1/2" This pouch is large enough for my leather shooting and also fits a Victorinox hunter with limited space. LOWER RIGHT EXTERNAL POCKET 7.9" X 6" I carry a roll of toilet paper in my pocket LOWER RIGHT EXTERNAL POCKET 3.4" X 4" I carry duck tape in this bag. NOTE: The duck tape is on a plastic card which makes it flat. RIGHT OUTER BOTTOM POCKET 4.4" X 4" but I can easily see myself getting another one like this as the price is good and it has the number of pockets I need and want fits well is all yes is a plus. Back to the <size chart>. I suggest focusing on what you wear in a regular t-shirt - shirt sizes depend on whether you want a looser fit. Many reviewers speak of wanting to wear this vest over a jacket or coat. Which frankly confuses me, since I've always worn clothes like that underneath. BUT to each his own. This is your t-shirt size. YES, I would definitely recommend this vest to anyone looking for a quality vest for EDC and/or travel. > The rings on the vest are MADE of stainless steel. I tested them with a small magnet to be sure and they were attracted to the magnet. UPDATE 5/9/2019 The zipper on the lower right outer pocket broke today and I was unable to fix it. .Despite it. The vest has served me well for a little over 2 years, although the price has gone up. Rounded from $38 on February 28, 2017 to $44 on May 20, 2019. I will be buying more.Special message for Rothco staff.Please put better zippers.YKK preferred.On your vests.Thanks.
