Review on LG 32UN880-B UltraFine 31.5" 4K Monitor - Tilt, Pivot, Height Adjustment, Connectivity by Jacob Montgomery

I bought it to use with a 16 inch Macbook Pro Thunderbolt 3. It was my first foray into third party monitors in 25 years and after some tutorials and support from LG I think I'm satisfied. I'm using it connected to a CalDigit T3 Plus Hub and a CalDigit DP > HDMI cable (at 60Hz - important) - HDMI is required for full access to all monitor features. The screen goes black for a short time, at least once a day plus fluctuations in brightness. The fluctuations in brightness were resolved by plugging the unit into a separate outlet from my laptop and hub - the problem then went away and hasn't recurred. going blank once a day seems to be due to a lot of static electricity, which the monitor is very sensitive to - I could walk into the room and walk past the monitor and it would react (I live in the desert where humidity is often lower as 7-8% which combined with the windy season between spring and summer creates enough to keep me in constant shock throughout the day.) I removed the mat from my chair and bought a can of anti-static and after using it , the popping and daily screen resets have also stopped. An LG tech worked with me, went through all my settings, made minor adjustments - Revane twice advised me to return it. I'm glad I didn't. I had no problems working with LG - they supported me and responded immediately. In my case, all monitor issues were actually symptoms of other "healthy" issues unrelated to the monitor. I know many people have experienced some of these performance issues. It was a lot of trial and error to find solutions, but now I have a monitor that works great with my MBP. The matte screen doesn't bother me and the colors are superb. Definitely a great mid-range prosumer monitor.
