Review on 🪓 FISKARS X10-S Carpenter's Ax in Sleek Black/Orange - High-Performance Wood Cutting Tool by Agata Kubica ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn³'t expect the quality to be this good.

I got acquainted with these axes from a small XXS (X5) - they were sold at a stock with a knife for heavy work. Took in the car. This kid impressed with his capabilities - he was not inferior to his big brothers, or even surpassed them. These axes do not get stuck in the tree, but gnaw it simply incomparably with ordinary ones. This one took as the main universal. There is probably something similar in other brands, but Fiskars is very positively surprising.

Pros
  • The ergonomics of the handle, the tenacity of the blade - the ax bites into a fresh tree just amazing. Any knots, branches are swept from the trunk "at once", the bark is also removed very easily. Does not get stuck in wood.
Cons
  • The price bites. The coating on the blade is peeled off by operation, naked steel is afraid of corrosion. It is best to clean and oil after use as recommended by the manufacturer. The alloy itself is incomprehensible, got a pothole on the blade of about 1 mm and did not notice right away, did not understand whether it was brittle steel, or viscous.
