Review on πŸ”₯ Remington Pro Compact Travel Flat Iron - Advanced Thermal Technology, 1" Size Plates, 1 Count by Angel Yergeau

uncomfortable grips. Difficult to use. No case or heat protection included?

The Remington Pro Advanced Thermal Technology Travel Compact 1β€³ Iron with full-size plates is an interesting iron because there's not really a grip to speak of. Plates are all iron. Obviously a design to save space when traveling but personally I've never had a problem fitting a regular iron in my suitcase and this one isn't actually that much smaller than the standard model. The inner plates are attached to a separate inner piece that separates from the device's outer casing so the user doesn't burn their hands when using it (at least I'm assuming since you literally have to hold it next to the plates). However, with the 400 degree plates, my hands were too close to be comfortable and I found this particular straightening iron very uncomfortable and difficult to use. Ace for this iron. Not even a thermal sleeve! For real? Most regular irons I've had in the past have come with a heating sleeve and this one literally has the word 'travel' in the name of the item and no travel iron compartment or sleeve is included in the package. It was disappointing and this iron is so uncomfortable to use that I will continue to travel with my full size iron (which isn't much bigger than this after all but has handles so I don't burn my fingers). .) While it gets the job done, I don't recommend this item. There are much better alternatives out there, and many of them are cheaper than the current retail price of this iron ($35 at the time of writing this article).

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Too boring
